The Benjamin Foundation (TBF) is a Norfolk charity that helps people of all ages deal with many of the challenges that life throws at them; whether 'everyday' issues such as childcare, or heartbreaking problems like abuse and homelessness. The charity provides a range of practical services which aim to empower people and give them back a sense of hope and control.
Plain Speaking PR has worked with TBF since 2008. At that time the charity wasn't well-known and operated mainly in North Norfolk. With no in-house communications resource, PSPR was asked to help raise the organisation's brand profile and increase awareness of specific services offered.
We adopted a strategic approach to PR and media relations for TBF; identifying core campaign areas that provided a platform for the charity to demonstrate its expertise and experience. In addition, we created a rolling PR calendar to ensure that events, activities and milestones were properly communicated and opportunities for coverage were not missed. We also ensured that the in-house team understood the importance of positive PR and their role in building productive relationships with stakeholders.
The Benjamin Foundation is now one of the largest charities in Norfolk and is well known throughout the county. We achieve regular, positive coverage for them in press, radio and broadcast media and key members of the TBF team are often called on to offer comments on relevant news stories. We've helped the charity to launch a wide variety of new services right across the county and to develop a fresh new brand identity.
